Region 3 Experience Novice Invitations

The AQHA Region 3 Experience Committee has approved providing Novice Youth and Novice Amateur exhibitors the opportunity to obtain an “Invitation” to the 2008 AQHA Region 3 Experience Show, July 23-27, 2008, in St. Paul, Minnesota. In order to obtain this “Invitation,” the Novice Youth or Novice Amateur exhibitor would have to participate in the designated Novice Eligibility Show in their Affiliate Association and place according to the AQHA Region 3 Experience Eligibility Rules. This “Invitation” applies to AQHA approved Novice Youth or Novice Amateur classes only.

2008 Region 3 Affiliate Novice Invitation Shows

Missouri - May 31, Carthage, Missouri

Iowa - July 5, Waterloo, Iowa (part of the Iowa Freedom Fest Circuit)

Minnesota - June 21, MQHA District 7 All Novice Show - Hinckley, Minnesota

Illinois - May 3-4, IQHA Spring Show (split/combined show) - Gifford, Illinois (Tracy Willis judge)

Wisconsin - June 8, All Novice Show - Seymour, Wisconsin

Manitoba, Canada - June 14, Summer Sizzler Show - Brandon, Manitoba

Novice Eligibility Rules

The number of Novice Youth and Novice Amateur exhibitors receiving an “Invitation” in each class will depend on the proximity of the Region 3 Affiliate to the Region 3 Host Affiliate.  For 2008, Minnesota Novice Youth and Novice Amateurs placing first, Wisconsin and Iowa Novice Youth and Novice Amateurs placing first through third, and Missouri, Illinois and Manitoba Novice Youth and Novice Amateurs placing first through fifth at the designated show will receive an “Invitation.”

The Novice Youth or Novice Amateur can only receive an “Invitation” at a show in their home Affiliate Association.  The “Invitation” applies to the exhibitor/horse combination and will allow the exhibitor/horse to participate in the class at the 2008 Region 3 Experience in which they received the “Invitation” without paying an entry fee for that class ($30 per class by June 10 and $40 per class after June 10).  An Exhibitor may not use more than three “Invitations” per division (Novice Youth or Novice Amateur).

NOTE:  All other charges, stall fees, bedding, etc., are the responsibility of the exhibitor.   NOTE:  If applicable, a $25 reduction per “Invitation” will be applied against the day fee ($80) within the appropriate division (Novice Youth or Novice Amateur) if received by June 10.  If received after June 10 a $30 reduction will be applied against the day fee ($100).  If three “Invitations” are used against the day fee, the day fee will be considered paid.

A Novice Youth exhibitor receiving an “Invitation” in an All Age Novice Youth class may use it in either the corresponding 13 and Under class or the corresponding 14-18 class if applicable at the 2008 Region 3 Experience show.

It is up to the Novice Youth or Novice Amateur exhibitor to make sure that they provide the show committee with all required information (name, address, phone number, horse’s name and registration number) so that notification of their “Invitation” can be handled in a timely manner.

Affiliate Association Guidelines

Each Affiliate will identify one Novice Show in 2008 as their Region 3 Experience Novice Eligibility Show.  If the Affiliate does not have a Novice Show, or their Novice Show date is after the 2008 Region 3 Experience (July 23-27, 2008) they may identify one regular Affiliate show as their Region 3 Experience Novice Eligibility Show.  (It is suggested that if a non-Novice show is chosen, that it be one with a large Novice participation and only novice youth and novice amateur classes are included in this invitation program.  If it is double judged, then identify one judge as the Region 3 Experience Novice Eligibility Judge.)
