CAN I "HARDSHIP" INTO REGION 3 TO COMPETE FOR REGIONAL EXPERIENCE AWARDS THIS YEAR? Yes this year, please contact AQHA today to apply for a Regional Experience hardship. New for 2009, anyone can apply to AQHA for a hardship to travel to a Regional Experience closer to their home. Your hardship application must be received to AQHA before the pre-entry deadline of the region in which you wish to compete. As in previous years, you and your horse can only compete in one region and all Regional Experience eligibility rules still apply. SPECIAL PRIZE FOR PRE-ENTRIES ONLY! When you make your entries prior to the pre-entry deadline of June 10, your exhibitor number will be placed into the drawing for our REGION 3 TACK TRUNK GIVEAWAY! One lucky exhibitor from our entries received by the June 10 deadline will win a Royal Blue Duralite Tack Trunk from Dan's Premium Stable Equipment - loaded with nearly everything you need to go to a horse show (horse not included). Use one form per horse but you must list the other two horses and exhibitors on each team you are entering with (Open/Amateur/Youth). Team Penning Entries must be mailed together with an entry form completed for each horse entered. Ranch Sorting Entries: Please use the Ranch Sorting Entry Form. Use one form per horse but you must list the other horse and exhibitor on each team you are entering with (Open/Amateur/Youth). Tel 319-668-2699, entries@region3experience.com. First-Time AQHA Exhibitor Classes! Each region has the option of offering any or all of the following six classes geared toward those exhibitors who have never shown with AQHA before. 1. Western Pleasure 2. Western Horsemanship 3. Showmanship 4. Trail 5. Hunter Under Saddle 6. Hunt Seat Equitation These can be held as all age classes or with a youth and adult division for each class. Ages determined the same as for AQHA youth and amateur classes. In order to be eligible to compete in the first time exhibitor classes, the exhibitor cannot have ever shown in that class at an AQHA show. Exhibitors shall obtain proof of their show record from the AQHA booth in the trade show. Additionally, exhibitors in these classes are strongly encouraged to wear a plain, long sleeve, button down western shirt and jeans in the western classes and showmanship. Exhibitors in the English classes will wear traditional attire. Additionally, it is encouraged to use tack with limited or no silver. All other eligibility rules pertaining to the Regional Experiences will still apply in these classes. AQHA will provide Regional Experience ribbons to be awarded to first through tenth place in each class. Region 3 Experience will provide awards for placings in these classes. They will not receive the AQHA awards listed for the AQHA classes. Results from these classes will not be recorded on AQHA records. First Time Exhibitor Entry Form - entries taken AT SHOW! SMALL FRY WALK TROT CLASSES We are also pleased to include six Small Fry Walk Trot Classes in 2009! Showmanship, Hunter Under Saddle (Walk/Trot), Western Pleasure (walk/jog), Western Horsemanship, Hunt Seat Equitation and Trail! Horses shown by the Small Fry Set do not have to meet AQHA ownership requirements, but you must include all necessary paperwork with your entries (still need copy of AQHA papers). Small Fry Classes will have different awards for placings 1-10. These classes will not receive the AQHA awards listed. 2009 ENTRY FEES - entries accepted until day of show Class Fee $42.00 per Class OR $140.00 per Division Show Fee Divisions: Open/Amateur and Amateur Select/Novice Amateur/Youth/Novice Youth Novice Amateur and Novice Youth Division Fees will include an Amateur or Youth Halter Class. NOTE: Copies of AQHA membership cards (front & back) and copies of horse's registration papers (front and back) MUST accompany all entries. Cattle Charges (per entry): Cattle Charges are NOT included in the Division Fees if paid. Roping $15.00 Working Cow Horse $35.00 Team Penning/Ranch Sorting: $25.00 NOTE: Cattle class entries should be made prior to July 10 to ensure fresh cattle. Optional Jackpot for all Roping and Speed/Timed Event Classes (Open/Amateur) $10.00 (paid back on times 40%, 30%, 20%, 10%) AQHA Drug Test Fee $3.00 per horse Special Class Entry Fees: First Time AQHA Exhibitor Classes - Enter at Show - FREE ENTRY - special awards presented. Leadline - Enter at Show - FREE ENTRY - Special Awards presented. Walk Trot - Youth 10-18 - Enter at Show. Entry Fee $15.00. Special Awards presented. Non-Pro Walk Trot 19 & Over - Enter at Show. Entry Fee $25.00 - Jackpotted 50% to winner, 50% donated to AQHA Foundation in the name of the class winner. Donations are made to the Foundation Area of choice by the Class Winner. EXHIBITORS PLEASE NOTE: The Minnesota State Fairgrounds does not allow dogs in the Coliseum.

HORSE HEALTH REQUIREMENTS Horses traveling within the US will require a current (30 days) health certificate and current (12 months) negative EIA (Coggins) report must accompany out-of-state horses. Horses from Canada coming into the U.S. will need the following:

$80.00 reserved by June 10, 2009 $95.00 reserved after June 10, 2009 Shavings must be purchased from the event and may be pre-ordered. Pre-bedding service is available on prepaid orders with stall reservations - we strongly encourage you to take advantage of this service and have your shavings waiting for you when you arrive to quicken your unloading time. Pre-bedding order deadline is July 9, 2009. 30 amp hookup $75.00 for duration of show 50 amp hookup $125 for duration of show (limited quantity, please reserve early) RV reservations can be sent with your stall reservations to Madelene White (see address under Stalls). Upon arrival at the Region 3 Experience you may check in at the Stall Office for assistance in obtaining your RV hookup.
MasterCard and VISA will be accepted for entries, stalls/bedding and RV reservations. No refunds after July 1, 2009.
